Crossroads Fellowship will be turning 14 years old this week! For the last fourteen years God has graciously chosen to bless the Crossroads family that began on 22 June 2002 with less than 100 people meeting in a rented shop, and has increased it to over 1100 people who meet several times every week in a beautiful facility. In the last fourteen years God has been pleased to use Crossroads Fellowship to touch and change hundreds of lives within Mombasa and beyond. It’s overwhelming just to think of how God has changed and blessed the lives of people of different ages, different tribes, different races, nationalities and socioeconomic statuses. For this reason, from the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank Pastors Jim Horne and Gary Smiddy for saying yes to God’s call to start this church. It’s been so exciting for me being part of this family as one of the pastors for the last seven years. God has used my seven year journey at Crossroads to teach me, humble me, grow me and bless me beyond measure. I am forever grateful to Him for allowing me this wonderful privilege and blessing of being just a small part of what He has been doing and continues to do in and through Crossroads.
Of course there have been many difficult times in our fourteen year journey as a church family. We have had our own share of sorrow and suffering and have experienced lots of challenges along the way. But by God’s help we have not lost our faith or our focus. He has helped us to stay united as a family and remain committed to His purpose of making passionate disciples of Jesus Christ. Through the good times and the bad, God has kept His promise in Romans 8:28; He has continued to work in all our circumstances (both positive and negative) for His good purpose of making us and others like His Son Jesus.
I wish I could tell you all about what God has done in and through our church family but of course time and space would not allow me to do that. That is why I would like to invite you to join us this Sunday, 26 June for a celebration of Crossroads @ 14. We are planning to have two wonderful celebration services (at 8:30am and 10:30am) of worshipping, praising and thanking God for what He and He alone has done in and through Crossroads. There will be plenty of great worshipful music, lots of (free) fun for all kids, a special gift for the first 1000 people, amazing testimonies of what God has done in the lives of some of our church members and a practical, biblical message from our guest speaker, our good friend Rev. Dennis Omondi of South Coast Community Church. I truly hope that you will be able for join us for one (or both) of the services and be part of this great rejoicing of God’s favour and blessing.
I look forward to seeing you at the Crossroads @ 14 bash!
Point To Ponder:
If you’re reading this, then you’re a part of the CF family. So let me ask you, what has Crossroads meant to you? In other words, what is it that you are thankful to God for Crossroads?Think about it and we’ll be glad to hear it from you. Pastor Duncan
