Psalm 91:1-2 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
Dear Lord, I wish for us to dwell in Your shadow. Lord You are our refuge and defense. We will trust You. There is fear in our land and all over the world. Help us as Your people to run to you to seek refuge and strength. May we dwell there! And in our dwelling, may our cares and troubles be erased by Your good and mighty hand. May panic and fear run from us. May we sense a rising within our souls, a confidence and peace that can only come from You because we trust in You as our refuge and fortress. In You we will hide. Thank You Lord for giving us confidence to walk through the valley of the shadow of death because we dwell in the shadow of You. In Jesus’ Name.
Psalm 91:3 – 4 Surely He will save you from the Fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; he faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Oh God, I trust in You to save me from harm. Around the world right now we are fighting an invisible enemy in the form of a disease. Even worse, we face possible loss physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually. Oh Lord, please protect us from this enemy and loss. We have no one to blame for this but we run to You for cover, even in our failures, shortcomings and sins….we run to You! Though we are unfaithful to You, You are faithful to us, to be our shield and defense. Under Your wings we wish to be. Keep us safe. Heal our land. And comfort our souls. In Jesus’ Name.
Psalm 91:5-6 You will not fear a the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
Lord of comfort and peace, please let me rest in You at all times. May I dream peacefully at night. In day, please make me to walk in Your power and not my own. Tear down this enemy that plagues us in these days. Drive out the locusts that destroy our crops and the virus that threatens our well being. Keep my heart and mind upon You and lift my head so that I can live in confidence, not fear…..in strength, not weakness…..in love, not angst….in peace, not panic. All the night and day long may you cover us, comfort us and keep us. In Jesus’ Name.
Psalm 91:7 – 8 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
Lord of power and strength, thank You for Your promise to save us from the visible and invisible enemies that we face. Thank You for keeping me safe thus far as this enemy seeks to surround us. Oh God, may Your hedge of protection surround me. May we fight our battles by being surrounded by You. Encompass us in your mighty hand and power. Let us never seek our own way and will but Your’s only. Send these plagues away from us. Far from us! And give us peace. We thank You in advance for saving us in these uncertain days. In Jesus’ Name.
Psalm 91:9-12 “If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
Lord, I choose You as my refuge. It is You I will run to in time of need. I know you will keep me from harm if I trust in You. May all of Your people make the choice to abide in You always. Help us Lord for we are weak. Sustain us by Your mighty hand. We are ever grateful that we can come to You and dwell in you for safety from all fears. From all enemies. From all disasters. In Your Name we claim safety in our tents. Thank You for commanding Your angels to guard us. Though our enemy is invisible, Your invisible host meets them before our tents. You’ve prepared a table for us in the presence of our enemies. Though it seems my enemies surround me, I’m surrounded by You. Thank You Lord. In Jesus’ Name.
Psalm 91:13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
Oh, Great God in heaven, though I step in harms way, you strengthen me to fight and to trample the enemy. You save me from the enemy that wants to devour me. To hiss at me and to make me sick. Thank You Lord for Your power over sickness and death. Through Jesus will I have victory because of His wounds. By His stripes I am healed and the enemy is defeated. I thank You Lord. Cover all of Your children with the blood shed for us at the cross. We trust in You. Where else do we turn? Your grace is sufficient for us. In Jesus’ Name.
Psalm 91:14 – 15 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.
Lord, I do love You. Without hesitation I will stand for You, Your truth, Your ways. You rescue me. You protect me. You don’t have to, but You are gracious to me to do so. I stand not in my own righteousness but in the righteousness of Christ. So I thank You for the freedom to call upon You and I do so. Thank You for hearing me and for delivering me. By Your grace and Your grace alone do I stand or fall in times of trouble. For You to honor me, I do not understand. Your great grace is too great to understand. I can only rejoice in it. Though I am but a worm and deserve nothing, You are too kind with mercy to satisfy me with your love, length of days and salvation. By Your hand I will persevere through this storm on Earth right now. I claim long life only because You grant it by Your Word. In Jesus Name.
